Perplexity is an AI answer engine: real-time web search + cited answers + an orchestrator that routes to top models (Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, GLM, Kimi, Nemotron). The consumer product is now Computer — a workspace that runs research, builds docs and apps, and answers from your files. The agentic browser is Comet. The API is splitting from Sonar to a new Agent API on 27 Sep 2026.
