UI Skills catalog
## what it does
tl;dr: point the agent at ui-skills.com before it invents a landing page. The site is a skill index plus a short playbook.
What it is
UI Skills is a collection of design-engineering skills “to help humans and agents create better interfaces.” The homepage tells the agent to start with CLI or MCP, then pick a named skill.
Skills listed on 2026-09-05 include (authors as shown on the site): ui-skills-root (ibelick), improve-ui (ibelick), frontend-design (anthropics), improve-animations (emilkowalski), improve-react (millionco), improve (shadcn), better-ui (jakubkrehel), plus others (design-lab, ui-ux-pro-max, impeccable, web-design-guidelines, interaction-design, …).
Playbook (verbatim intent from the site)
- Set
aspect-ratioso nearby content does not jump while an image loads. - Use
text-balancefor headings andtext-prettyfor body copy. - Use
tabular-numsfor numbers in tables. - Give controls a touch target of at least 44×44px.
How to use
- If the user asked for UI help, load ui-skills-root (or this cache entry) and route to one skill.
- Prefer read-only audit skills (
improve-ui,improve-animations,improve) when they asked for a plan, not a rewrite. - Cross-link: Refactoring UI Audit, you don’t need animations, agent UI source router, shadcn/ui.
Gotchas
Install command is whatever the site currently shows. This entry does not invent an npm name. Compatibility is inferred from “agent skill” usage, not a sandbox run.
